Portola Hills is a community with a split personality.  The original development was called Portola Hills but our mailing address is Trabuco Canyon, California.  Then,  a couple of years ago, we were annexed by the city of Lake Forest.  So it depends on why you are looking for us.  If you want to look on the MLS or Realtor.com, you have to look under Lake Forest, CA.  If you are mailing us something, you have to send it to Trabuco Canyon, Ca.  But, even with all the confusion, we love it up here.  You will see in the following pictures that the community is surrounded by natural beauty and we aren't up against any other community.  The homes in the community are up on a hill and are at an altitude of  approximately 1200 ft.  This means that there are wonderful views in all directions.  From this height, looking to the southwest,  you can see the ocean from Newport Beach up to Long Beach, Catalina Island, the Palos Verdes Pensula and Whiting Ranch Regional Park.  From the north side, you can see Saddleback Mountain and the Cleveland National Forest.  From the east side you can see the hills going down toward San Diego.  From the south side, you can see Mission Viejo Lake and down into Aliso Viejo and Laguna Niguel.   Coming up to Portola Hills is like getting away from the maddening crowd down below.   It is a great place to live.  There are a great variety of homes in Portola Hills.  Everything from a small condo to a 3,600 sqft. 6 bedroom home.  We are close to the 241 toll road, Bake Parkway, Lake Forest Blvd., El Toro Blvd. and Marguerite Parkway so we can get anywhere in the county very quickly and yet we are our own separate little community.  We are surrounded by hiking and biking trails, wild animals & beautiful scenery.  It just doesn't get any better than Portola Hills.  Enjoy the pictures.

The entrance to Whiting Ranch is right next to Ralph's in the Foothill Ranch Marketplace.

These are your first few step into Whiting Ranch.  Take some water, good shoes and enjoy the adventures.

This is Cook's Corner a local landmark and Harley hangout.  It is located on the corner of El Toro Road and Live Oak Canyon Road.  A great place to have breakfast, lunch and watch motorcycles on the weekends.

A couple of miles down the road from Cook's is the world famous Trabuco Oaks Steakhouse.  They serve a great steak dinner in very interesting surroundings.  No reason to dress up here.  Also, you had better make reservations on Friday and Saturday.

This is a view from inside Portola Hills.  The road below is Saddleback Ranch Road, the main road through the community.  Across the street is Portola Hills elementry school.  It is an award winning elementry school.  Of course, you have Saddleback Mountain in the background.

This is Concourse Park, Portola Hills own city park.  It has picknick facilities as well as play equipment for tots and small children, a large field and 1/2 basket ball court.
